Food is perhaps life's most pleasurable necessity. Not only is it enjoyed on a regular daily basis, it is also one of the few things that we must consume in order to stay alive. But what makes food so damn good? I mean, it's not like we get to keep it; we chew, swallow, and hours later all that's left is the faint memory of flavor on our tongue. Yeah, you can shell out a couple bucks for a Big Mac, or pay a pretty penny for a gourmet fillet mignon dinner, but in the end it all becomes the same grade of shit. So, what makes the investment worth it?
Well, any way you look at it, you're not BUYING a relieving night on the can. What makes food spectacular is EATING it. The difference between mouth-watering goodness and a cold plate of repulsion may be in the eye of the consumer, but we all love to eat. Food is our primal common ground. There is nothing more wholesome, refreshing and comforting than sharing a freshly prepared meal with the people you care most about.
As a lifelong food enthusiast, I have experienced some of the most euphoric flavors on the planet as well as a handful of the most ferocious. For the sake of keeping my horizons broad, I will sample nearly anything at least once, and most likely go back for more.
Good Eatin'!
